GUIDE FOR INSTALLERS
Below we present information about the assembly and passage through the anchors of our vertical lifelines. You can also download a Fast guide about its assembly that will be very useful for installers.
Although all our products strictly comply with all current safety regulations and certifications, it is very important to read this guide carefully to avoid any improper installation or use of the lifelines. If you have any questions, contact our technical team.
Mounting
A rigid anchor line is designed to be installed on vertical ladders or on any vertical structure on which a user performs a manual ascent (mast, tower, telecommunications antenna, etc.). The operation of a lifeline requires that its installation comply with the requirements provided by the manufacturer and current regulations. Before installing it, it must be verified that the structure that will support a vertical lifeline allows it to comply with the following 3 rules:
- Verticality: According to the current standard (EN 353-1:2014), the angle between the axis of the cable and the vertical must not exceed 15º.
- Alignment: In normal configuration, the cable should follow a straight line. If a change of cable direction is necessary, contact us.
- Vain: It is the space between intermediate pieces, and it is recommended that it does not exceed 8 meters indoors and 6 meters outdoors.
Passage through anchors
The intermediate piece, in any lifeline, has the function of preventing excessive movements of the cable, caused by wind or vibrations of the structure, allowing the operator to pass through.
We recommend that the distance between intermediate pieces does not exceed 6 meters outdoors and 8 meters indoors. These figures vary depending on the wind and vibration conditions of the site. These phenomena can be particularly important in cases of vertical lifelines installed on towers (telecommunication, wind measurement) or wind farms (vibrations), where a large span between intermediates can cause wide oscillations of the cable.
Our vertical lifelines offer 2 different systems for passing through intermediate anchors, always without any action on the part of the user as required by current regulations EN 353:1: 2014 + A1: 2017
